Microsoft Copilot (for M365) is a productivity tool designed to help you work faster within the Microsoft ecosystem. It is excellent for summarising your emails, searching your SharePoint, and drafting your Word documents. Colabra is a diligence tool designed to audit external data. We don't verify your internal files; we verify the target company's data room.
Copilot lives inside your tenant. Its superpower is accessing your own knowledge base ("Summarise the emails I sent to John last week"). It is designed to make you more efficient at your daily administrative and creative tasks. It is an "index" of your own work.
Colabra lives in the deal room. Its superpower is ingesting foreign data. When a target company dumps 10,000 files on you, you don't want them in your corporate SharePoint (polluting your search results). You want them in a segregated workspace where you can tear them apart. Colabra provides that sterile, forensic environment.
Copilot is often limited in how many files it can process at once (e.g. summarising a few documents). M&A diligence requires processing thousands of files simultaneously to find patterns. Colabra scans the entire data room in parallel, identifying cross-document risks that a single-file assistant cannot see.
Copilot can summarise what exists. It cannot tell you what is missing. Colabra's Reconcile lens is explicitly built to identify gaps in the record—comparing the VDR index against a standard diligence checklist to flag missing schedules or board minutes.
Copilot is a sidebar. It is there to assist you while you do the work. Colabra is the application where the work happens. We provide the risk register, the entity map, and the task assignment workflow—the structured database that a sidebar chat cannot replace.
