We are an opinionated workspace for buy-side M&A. We are not a "do everything" legal tool. To save you time, here are the situations where Colabra is likely the wrong choice for you.
If you are a seller looking for a secure place to host files and invite bidders, you need Datasite, Intralinks, or Firmex. Colabra is for the buyers who are invited to that room. We analyse the data; we do not host the auction.
If you want to manage your company's own vendor contracts, renewals, and drafting workflows, you should look at Ironclad or LinkSquares. We are built to audit other people's companies (targets), not to run your internal legal operations.
If your primary goal is to store your firm's standard clauses to help you draft new contracts faster, you need a knowledge management tool like Henchman or a drafting co-pilot like Spellbook. We are a forensic tool for finding risks, not a library for storing templates.
If you have a single PDF and just want to ask it a quick question, use ChatGPT or Claude. Colabra is an enterprise workspace designed for processing thousands of files, mapping entities, and managing complex deal checklists. It is overkill for a one-off document query.
If the deal is so small or low-risk that you do not intend to do deep diligence—if you just need to glance at the financials and sign—Colabra is unnecessary. We are built for deals where the details matter and the risk of missing something is high.
