When to use Dropbox
Use Dropbox when the deal is running through a lighter shared-folder workflow and you want the Dropbox source to populate project evidence directly.
The smaller-team shared folder
Real deal example: practical intake for a lighter workflow
For a lean deal where materials are arriving in a Dropbox folder rather than a formal data room, connect that folder once and let Colabra ingest and version the contents instead of rebuilding the evidence set by hand.
Setup pattern
Connection happens once at the workspace level. The actual project folder is selected from a project’s files empty state or from Project menu → Import.
Dropbox browsing starts from Dropbox.
What happens after import
- the initial folder contents are imported immediately
- Colabra performs background re-syncs for connected project folders
- upstream file changes are stored as new file versions rather than duplicate project files
The exact re-sync cadence is not currently exposed in product settings, so teams should treat it as automatic background sync rather than a user-configurable schedule.
