Power BI
See Overview for where Power BI fits in the overall integration model.
When to use Power BI
Use Power BI when the destination is a shared reporting environment rather than a one-off analyst workbook. This is the right choice for portfolio dashboards, operating reviews, or recurring management reporting that should consume structured diligence data.
Project output feeds the reporting layer
Real deal example: live diligence in Colabra, portfolio rollups in BI
An investment team runs each deal in Colabra but wants portfolio-wide reporting in Power BI. Connecting a Power BI workspace lets project export actions land in the same reporting environment the portfolio team already uses.
Setup pattern
Connection happens once at the workspace level. After that, the workspace selects the target Power BI workspace from the list returned for that account.
What happens after connection
- the workspace stores the Power BI connection once
- an admin selects the destination Power BI workspace
- project export actions publish datasets into that selected workspace
Use Excel exports instead when the output needs to be inspected or manipulated as a workbook by an individual analyst.
